This blog is an attempt to capture the journey of my final year studio. After many years of architectural studies, I have learn to love architecture as much as I love chocolate.

The discourse of Islam and the West has been occurring widely in the recent years. The concerns for integration, the clash of cultural differences and mutual understanding are key to the contemporary world.

The idea of this project is not merely to explore on the theoretical framework but to find an appropriate contemporary Islamic architectural expression in the West to house religious and cultural activities; mosque.

This embarks me on a voyage to find for a new language of Western Mosque that synthesizes traditionalism and modernism in a regional / secular context.
